Lesson 2: The Elk Skin in the Sky
Welcome back to Summer Stargazing for Families!
For your second lesson, we will learn how to find the constellation Cassiopeia and hear a story about these stars from a native tribe from Washington State.
Did you miss a lesson?
If you didn’t have time to watch last week’s lesson, or if you need a refresher, you can watch that video here. The first lesson is very important because it teaches you how to find the Big Dipper, which will be out “home base” to find other constellations during this 8-week course.
Your Kids Can Learn Astronomy!
If your child loves learning about the stars and constellations, they will love Experience Astronomy.
We cover so much in these full-school-year online courses. Students learn about…
- How to identify major constellations
- Ways astronomy connects to fascinating stories in history, literature, folklore, archaeology, and the Bible
- The amazing world of interstellar space—stars, galaxies, black holes, and exoplanets
- How ancient people used astronomy to tell time, create calendars, and navigate the globe
Best yet: I do all the teaching for you through fun, engaging online videos and hands-on activities.
