Week 1: Brainstorm and Select Your Topic 

This week, your student will explore their interests and choose a topic they’re excited about. We’ve included worksheets to help them brainstorm ideas, research possible projects, and narrow their options down to a question they’re curious to explore.

Week 2: Conduct Background Research

This week, we will dive into background research. The Week 2 guide will help students choose reliable sources, research their topic, and organize their information.

Next week, students will develop their hypothesis and learn to write a clear, easy to follow procedure.

 

Week 3: Create Hypothesis and Plan Experiment 

This week, your student gets to dive into their project and start bringing it to life. The Week 3 guide will help them develop their hypothesis and outline their experiment procedure.

Next week, students will start prepping for their experiment.

 

Week 4: Prepare and Gather Materials

It’s Week 4 of the Science Fair Project Guide! Halfway there! This week, your student will gather all their materials and get the workspace ready.

Next week is the week we’ve all been waiting for – experiment time!

 

Week 5: Conduct the Experiment

It’s Week 5, and time for the most important step! This week, your student will conduct their experiment and start gathering data.

Next week we’ll be analyzing the data they collect.

Week 6: Analyze Data and Draw Conclusions

Now that your student has completed their experiment and collected data, it’s time to analyze and make sense of it.

Next week we’ll put it all together and create a presentation!

 

Week 7: Showcase your results

This week, your student will design their presentation to showcase their project. Whether it’s a display board or digital format, clarity and creativity are key.

Week 8: Practice and Present Your Project

Congratulations—it’s the final week! This week, your student will prepare a short video sharing their project to go along with their display board.
