What’s included with my purchase? What additional books or supplies will I need for a course?
Your purchase includes access to all of the required materials for the course, including lesson and lab videos along with PDF downloads of the student guidebook, lab guide, curriculum guide, and answer keys.
In addition, we provide recommended living book reading lists for elementary-level courses and a recommended textbook for upper-level courses. These are recommended but optional.
You’ll also be responsible for purchasing lab supplies for any labs you’d like your student to complete at home.
How long will my student have access to this course?
Elementary-level courses include lifetime access to all of the materials for your immediate family.
Upper-level courses are self-paced. Students have access to the course for a full calendar year from the time they begin the first lesson. Once your student completes their current lesson, they’ll receive access to the next one within 1-2 hours.
Does my child have to view the course videos on specific days?
No, students can watch the lessons anytime throughout the week.
Can I enroll more than one child in this course at the same time?
Elementary-level courses are available for the whole family to use.
However, for upper-level courses, each student receives their own online learning dashboard, quizzes, and grades, so they should enroll separately. We do offer generous multi-student discounts for families enrolling more than one student in the same class at the same time.
What is your discount for enrolling multiple students?
If you have multiple students (in the same immediate family) enrolling in the same upper-level course, we offer a 50% discount for the second student and a 75% discount for the third and fourth students.
If you have multiple students enrolling in the same level of the course, your discount will be automatically added at checkout. If you happen to have children enrolling in both the B and C levels of Physical Science or Astronomy, contact us via email at info@journeyhomeschoolacademy.com, so we can assist you with a discount.
Elementary-level courses can be shared among the whole family, so there’s no need to enroll multiple students.
Can my student earn high school credit?
In most states, students need to accumulate at least 120 hours of instruction and coursework to receive a high school credit.
Our Level C courses were designed for this purpose. They’ll need to complete all of the following to accumulate the necessary course hours:
- complete all the course lectures
- take all the quizzes and exams
- complete all recommended readings
- complete all lab and activity assignments part of the regular course
- complete each of the additional weekly level C assignments
Please note: the Level B courses for middle school ages does not include enough hours for most students to receive high school credit. If you are intending your student to earn high school credit, be sure to select the Level C program when you sign up.
Do you offer options to use this in a co-op?
We offer co-op pricing for groups of 4 or more who have designated a single instructor/facilitator. Co-op courses are designed for groups that are meeting at least weekly.
Our co-op courses are set up differently than our family programs to accommodate groups. You can learn more about our co-op courses here.
Please note: because of the way our group programs are set up, we are not able to communicate with individual parents of students within co-ops.

We were looking for a science curriculum with a Biblical worldview, without an enormous amount of textbook reading.
We had used an online curriculum the last 2 years, but it just didn’t fit my son’s learning style. My son’s learning style is visual-spatial so “hands-on” curricula works best for him.
